Introduction to Chair Yoga

First round yogis will also have access to a private support chat group, video calls and email support from me if you have any questions. I want to make sure this is a fun and enjoyable experience for you, that helps you weave a yoga practice into your life.

Emily Cordes
Hi, I’m Emily, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and yoga teacher. Over the past few years I have taught chair yoga clinically to people living with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, migraine, cancer and more. My classes blend mindful movement with breath work and a slow and steady approach to building strength and improving mobility.

Absolutely not! I will guide you through the basics, this is designed for beginners and those who have practised some yoga before.

It can be! The four main classes will have a standing part of the class, using the chair for support. However, there will be a video on how to adapt the standing poses to make it a fully seated practice.

Each week’s class will be between 30-40 minutes long. You can do the class once, twice or every day a week if you feel like it! If you miss a week no problems, you will have access to these classes for the lifetime of the course. No rush to finish everything within the five weeks.

For this first round of the course we will have a zoom chat in week one and week five, as well as a private message group where you can ask any questions you might have! This is why the places are limited for the first round of this course.
